Fairfax House, York

On the second day of a short trip to west Leeds we spent part of the day in York. We primarily went to Betty’s but also National Railway Museum and Fairfax House. A bad back meant I was ready to quit by mid-afternoon.

I had visited Fairfax House several times over the years because my (now dismantled) Doll’s House was inspired by the House. Though that inspiration came from a guidebook my mother had bought on a visit and this was the first visit as members of Historic Houses.

Below are older pictures and a sugar packet wrapper from my (now disbursed) collection.
