Meols Hall is tricky to visit as they are only open for this purpose for about four weeks starting with the August Bank Holiday Weekend.  We were the only visitors during the time we were there and although it is normally a self-guided tour one of the volunteers showed us round, which was very helpful. Only rooms on the ground floor are accessible as it is still used as a family home.

There are some gardens, but as it was a wet day we didn’t look around. However, there was a Horse Chestnut Tree near the car park (which is on grass) and we collected a good number of conkers to see off the spiders for another year. We noticed that the Hall also had clusters of three conkers in bowls in the rooms.
