Given the identity of Thomas Stafford his parents were Francis and Mary who appear to have had one child baptised in Dunton Basset and the remainder in Ashley.
No marriage has been found for this couple to date.
From the gravestone and memorial inscription Francis was born about 1693.  The only suitable baptism found was to Zachariah and Hannah Stafford at Shearsby.  I have assumed this is the same person.
Therefore the indentity of Francis is reasonably certain.
