'The Carlisle Collection of miniature rooms was the creation of Mrs Carlisle, fondly nown as Kitty. She started collecting antique miniatures as a young child and collected 10,000 miniature pieces over the next forty years! The collection was given to the National Trust in 1970 and has been at Nunnington Hall since 1981.’
