In the 1841 Census Thomas Walters (34) is given as aged 40 which is probably rounded. He was born in Warwickshire.
From his second marriage his father's name is given as James Walters.
The only baptism found which matches these criteria is in 1797 to James and Lydia Walters at St Martin's Birmingham.

This is not very strong evidence but has been assumed to be correct.
