Exile and Return
These pages contain talks and sermons on the period of the Bible known as the exile and return.
See the introduction below for further details or watch the introductory talk.
After long years in which the people of Judah had disregarded God's commands and His word through the prophets, judgment fell on the nation. The city of Jerusalem and the Lord's Temple were destroyed and a relatively small number of people, a remnant, were taken into exile in Babylon. But the Lord had also declared His mercy and, as promised, after 70 years people began to return and gradually rebuild the Temple and city.
The online talks, as they develop, will cover the period from 610BC to 445BC in order. God willing, we will also have six (short) series of sermons on each of the books of Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Esther, Ezra and Nehemiah.
