Meadows Stafford (96-AB)
and Sarah Corby
Meadows:1784-1863 Sarah:c1792-1853
Meadows was baptized 12 Sep 1784 in Medbourne to Francis and Rebekah Stafford (nee Meadows)
Meadows married Sarah Corby 18 Apr 1816 in Medbourne. I have no evidence of any children.
There is a gravestone in
Medbourne churchyard, the left hand side is blank, on the right is:
" Sarah
wife of
Meadows Stafford
who died
March 23rd 1853
in the 61st year of her age "
There is an entry in the Burial register for 26 May 1853. Her age is 60 and she is said to be of Middleton.
There is an entry in the Medbourne
Burial register for Meadows on 17 Jan 1863, he was aged 78 and said
to be of Middleton.
John Stafford (96-AC)
John:1786-1814
John was baptized 27 Dec 1786 in Medbourne to Francis and Rebekah Stafford
He died 30 Nov 1814 aged 28.
His gravestone
is in Medbourne churchyard:
" John Stafford
Son of Fras and Rebekah Stafford
who departed this life
November the 30th 1814
Aged 28 years"
His burial is also in the burial
register he was buried 1 Dec 1814.
William Stafford (48-A)
and Priscilla Underwood
William:1787-? Priscilla:?-?
I am fairly confident that this is the right William. He was baptised 13 May 1787 in Ashley to Wilson and Jane Stafford.
William married Priscilla Underwood on 26 Nov 1811 in Ashley.
They appear to have had 7 children the first six of whom were baptized
at Ashley and the last one at Market Harborough, implying that they had
moved there between 1824 and 1827. A burial entry will be important to
ensure that this is the correct William.

They had 9 children baptised in Ashley,

Francis Stafford (192-HDB)
and Catharine Smith
Francis:1782-? Catharine:?-?
Francis was baptized in Ashley 15 Sep 1782 to Thomas and Jane Stafford
I have assumed that this was the same Francis who married Catharine Smith. However, this is by no means certain. It would appear that Francis was 16 years older than Catharine. Also there is a Francis Stafford who married Sarah Smalley at Ashley in 1807. It is possible that this was the same Francis whose first wife died and he then remarried, at the age of 37 someone who was about 20. It is possible that she was related to the Lucy Smith who Francis' brother William married in 1820 and Sarah Smith who he married in 1830.
Francis married Catharine Smith 28 Jul 1819 at Weston by Welland.
There appear to be 9 children all baptised at the Ashley and Wilbarston
Independent Chapel, though their parish is given as Sutton.

Elizabeth | 30 May 1832 | 28 Jun 1832 | Ashley & Wilbarston Ind | In Sutton Bassett at 1851 Census | 192-HDBH |
Charles | 7 Apr 1834 | 13 Jul 1834 | Ashley & Wilbarston Ind | This needs checking | 192-HDBI |
I have not found any reference to them in the 1841 Census.
Catharine and family are in the 1851 Census for Sutton Bassett. It would seem that Francis had died by now but I have no evidence of his death or burial. If Catharine's age is correct then she was born around 1798, making her 16 years younger than Francis. It also suggests that Francis was 55 when the youngest son John was born.

Thomas Stafford (192-HDE)
Thomas:1788-?1872
Thomas was baptised 2 Nov 1788 in Ashley to Thomas & Jane Stafford
Thomas is in the 1841 Census:

It is likely that Thomas was buried in Ashley, 12 Apr 1872. His age is recorded as 73, but in fact it would have been 83. There is no other Thomas who might match this in birth and census.
William Stafford (192-HDH)
and Lucy Smith / Sarah Smith
William:1794-? Lucy:c1801-1829
Sarah:?-?
William was born 15 Mar 1794 in Ashley (baptised 13 Apr 1794 at the Independent Chapel) to Thomas & Jane Stafford
William married Lucy Smith on 22 Mar 1820 in Ashley.
They had four children and then Lucy died 13 Jun 1829, at the same time as two of the children..
William seems to have then married
Sarah Smith (presumably Lucy's sister) on 1 Nov 1830 at Leicester St. Margaret.
They were married by Licence. William is said to be of the parish of St.
Margaret but is a widower. They had one child. All five children were baptized
at the Independent Chapel and the family were said to be of Weston by Welland.

They had two children who were baptized at the Independent Chapel, their
parish being Ashley.
