Thomas was baptized in Weston by Welland in 1834 to Francis and Ann Stafford.

the 1841 Census for Ashley:

He was also with his parents in the 1851
Census for Ashley:
Thomas Stafford Son U 16 Carpenter’s
Assistant b Weston
It is believed that in the mid 1850s he moved to Birmingham.
In 1861 Thomas was unmarried, aged 27 and boarding with John and Priscilla Stafford at 9 Montague Street, Aston. John's birthplace appears to be Heston, but it is very similar to Thomas' and is presumably therefore Weston.
He was married on 4 August 1863 at St. Thomas, Birmingham to Deborah
Ann Mary Russell (13). Lucy Russell was one of the witnesses..
Deborah had been born in Aylsham, Norfolk and is also believed to have
moved to Birmingham, in her case with her family, in the 1850s.
They had four children:
Russell Stafford b1871
Thomas Stafford b1876
Deborah Stafford b1877
John Alfred Stafford b1879
From at least 1871 they were living at Muntz Street, Birmingham. Thomas was a Carpenter although he later worked as a builder.

At the 1881 Census Martha Ann is
listed as a niece of William Dixon and living in Benefield. This could
mean that William was married to a sister of Benjamin, or that Elizabeth
was his sister.
Martha is aged 17.
Benjamin was buried 22 Feb 1883 in Ashley aged 55.
John Stafford (48-CF) and
Ann
John:1833-1864 Ann:c1834-1905
John was baptized on 25 Dec 1833 at Ashley to Samuel and Martha Stafford.
He presumably married Ann although I have no record of this.

Also two infant children, WILLIAM STAFFORD, aged 2 years. Also CHARLOTTE

that you must like me die, Repent in time, make no delay, For in my prime

In loving memory of ANN STAFFORD, who died June 14th 1905, aged 71
years. "Trust ye in the Lord for ever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting
strength." Isaiah 26.4th Verse. "Rock of ages, cleft for me, Let me hide
myself in thee." Also of ALICE, daughter of the above, who departed this

John is in the burial register
25 Oct 1864 Ashley.
Ann is in the burial register
16 Jun 1905 Ashley.
I have the register entry for the burial of Alice as 18 Sep 1911, which is inconsistent with the gravestone.
Wilson Stafford (48-CI)
and Mary
Wilson:1844-? Mary:?-?
Wilson was baptized to Samuel and Martha Stafford on 16 Jun 1844 at Ashley.
He is with him family in the 1851 Census
for Ashley:
Wilson Son aged 7
born Ashley
He is not with the family in the 1861 Census, nor have I found any reference to him.
The will of Wilson's brother Thomas (48-CJ) mentions the sons of Wilson Stafford. It was to be executed by William's nephews William Proctor Stafford and John Stafford, who were presumably the sons of Wilson.
William Proctor Stafford was baptized in Ashley on 12 Feb 1871. His father was Wilson and mother Mary. Wilson's occupation is given as Baker.
I have not found the family in the 1881 Census.
Thomas Stafford (48-CJ)

He mentions his wife Jemima and son Francis and the sons of his brother
Wilson.

and Lucy
John:1826-? Lucy:?-?
John was born 16 Nov 1826 in Weston by Welland and baptized at the Ashley Independent Chapel 19 Aug 1827 to William and Lucy Stafford
There is, however, in the 1881 Census another John, of a similar age, who was born in Weston and was married to Priscilla. I cannot account for this second John and it is possible I have mixed them up.
