Will of Thomas Stafford of Medbourn 1797


In the Name of God Amen, I Thomas Stafford of Medbourn in the County of Leicester Yeoman, being weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be give to the Almighty for he same, calling to mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men, once to Die, do make constitute and appoint this and no other to be my last Will and Testament, in the following manner and form ?

Imprimis, I Give and Bequeath unto Thomas Stafford my son the sum of One shilling to be paid to him one year after my Decease ?

Secondly, I Give and Bequeath unto Francis Stafford, John Stafford and Joseph Stafford my Sons the sum of thirty three pounds each, to be paid to them, or their Heirs and afsigns One year after my Decease, and I like wise Give and Bequeath unto Judith Meadows and Mary Freestone my Daughters the sum of thirty three Pounds (each) to be paid to them one year after my Decease.

Thirdly, I Give and Bequeath unto Wilson Stafford my Son the sum of thirteen pounds, to be paid to him one year after my Decease.

Fourthly, I Give and Bequeath unto Elizabeth and Mary Freestone Daughters and my daughter Mary Freestone aforesaid all my Household Goods, Chattels and Moveable Effects to be Equally Divided between them after my Decease.

Lastly, I constitute and appointe Francis Stafford my son  sole Executor by this my Will and Testament ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and seal this Twenty seventh day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand seven hunded and ninety five.

Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Thomas Stafford as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us; who in his presence (and in the presence) of each other have hereunto subscribed our names, the day and year above written

He being duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the will at that the ? Goods, Chattels and Credits do not amount in value to the sum of Three hundred pounds
