1861 Census
Witness to marriage - Unna Ann Curtis
Identity of Joseph Cadby

When Una Ann Cadby married her father is given as Joseph Cadby a toolmaker.
Her birth certificate gives her parents at Joseph Cadby and Mary Cadby, formerly Curtiss.
Thus the identity of Joseph and Mary seems fairly certain.
No 1861 Census entry has been found but the 1851 Census confirms the names.
From the censuses Joseph was born in Birmingham around 1815.
Two possible baptisms have been found, but one of these children died in infancy.
Therefore it seems reasonably certain that Joseph was the son of James and Mary Cadby.
The marriage certificate does not give the name of Joseph's father.

Birth of Joseph Cadby

There are two posible baptisms (registers for both inspected).
	1) to William and Elizabeth Cadby
		26 Dec 1814 Birmingham St Philip's
		Address Summer Lane, Birmingham
This child apparently died and was buried 9 Jan 1816 - parents names given.
	2) To James and Mary Cadby 11 Jun 1815
At 'Summer Lane, formerly New Hall St. New Jerusalem'
It appears therefore that this is the correct Joseph.
