Headquarters of the 2nd Mounted Division "a" Branch
From 1.10.15 to 31.10.15

5 Oct 1915 Lala Baba

Difficulties are being experienced in getting engineer work for the division done. There being no Field Coy. in the division, the 66th Field Coy from the 10th Division was attached about 20th August. When the division took over a definite position of the line of trenches at the beginning of September plans were drawn up for R.E. work necessary, such as drainage schemes, wiring, improving defences, roads and construction of wells. Much of the work was held up and is still being held up for want of materials. Not only this but work has been carried on under the direction of the C.R.R. of another division and consequently delays in obtaining materials. However much good and excellent work has been done by the company, but owing (sic) it having being taken awa at very short notice the newly attached RE company had no time to take over properly. Consequently more delay in much needed work.
